Questions about pricing
- Is there a free plan?
- Yes. The Free plan is free forever, with manual entry, statement upload, basic categories and a monthly report. First 200 on the waitlist pick one: 6 months of free bank sync, or Pro at $5 a month for a year. From 16 November 2026, new free accounts do not include bank sync.
- Do I need a credit card to try a paid plan?
- New Student, Pro and Legend subscriptions start with a 7 day free trial, so you are not charged until it ends and you can cancel any time before then. Sync is the exception: it has no trial and starts at $4 a month straight away.
- Are the prices in New Zealand dollars?
- Yes. Every price on this page is in NZD and includes GST. There are no currency conversion fees and no surprise foreign transaction charges, because nothing is billed overseas.
- How does the Student price work?
- The Student plan is $5 a month and needs a verified .ac.nz email address. It includes everything in Pro. If you finish study and your address stops working, you can move to another plan rather than losing your data.
- Can I cancel whenever I like?
- Yes. Plans are monthly, so you cancel in Settings and keep access until the end of the month you have paid for. If you subscribed in the iPhone app, cancel in your iPhone's Settings instead: tap your name, then Subscriptions. There is no contract, no cancellation fee and nobody to ring.
- What happens to my data if I stop paying?
- Your account drops to Free rather than being deleted. You keep your history and can export it. If you delete your account, your data and any bank connection consent are removed.
- Do I have to use the AI features?
- No. Transactions are sorted by our own New Zealand merchant list first, and every AI feature is off unless you switch it on. Each one shows you what it would send to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI, before you agree, and you can turn it off again at any time in Settings.
