What KiwiBudget can see, what it can never do, and how to delete everything.
KiwiBudget can see, but never touch. Bank connections are read-only, run through Akahu, and you can revoke them any time. Everything is stored encrypted, and every account can only ever see its own data.
We never sell your data or share it with advertisers. Your budget and your bank are nobody’s business but yours.
AI is optional
Your transactions are sorted by our own New Zealand merchant list first. Only what it cannot place is sent to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI, and only the description - never your balances or account numbers. You can turn AI categorisation off entirely under Settings, Privacy, and the rest of the app carries on working.
Delete means delete
Close your account in Settings and your data goes with it - and any bank connection is revoked at Akahu at the same time. Dormant bank connections are also disconnected automatically rather than held onto.
